Brandon Hunnicutt

RIPE DIRECTOR, NE FARMER

Brandon Hunnicutt raises corn, soybeans, seed corn, popcorn and sorghum on his family farm in Giltner, Nebraska. He is a graduate of NCGA’s Leadership At Its Best and Advanced Leadership Program, and holds a BS in Agri-Business from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

When asked why regenerative agriculture is important for Hunnicutt, he says “soil health, water conservation, and reducing our dependence on synthetic fertilizers/crop protection products are extremely important for the long-term stability of farming. Trying to get soil to full productive health requires rethinking how we do things on a daily basis on the farm. We aren't producing more water and soil, so utilizing the practices within regenerative agriculture is great for the long-term.”

Hunnicutt is also involved with Field to Market and the Nebraska On-Farm Research Project and was the former Chairman of RIPE’s Steering Committee.
